<br /> 2 <br /> 3 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 <br /> 8 <br /> 9 <br /> 10 <br /> 11 <br /> 12 <br /> 13 <br /> 14 <br /> 15 <br /> 16 <br /> 17 <br /> 18 <br /> 19 <br /> 20 <br /> 21 <br /> 22 <br /> 23 <br /> 24 <br /> 25 <br /> 26 <br /> 27 <br /> 28 <br /> -- 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br />1/3/83 32 <br />BP/jm CITY ATTORNEY <br />RIVERSI DE <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTIC~l NO. 14862 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF AN <br />APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF CRIMINAL <br />JUSTICE PLANNING FOR A GRANT FOR ITS CAREER CRIMINAL <br />APPREHENSION PROGRAM, ACCEPTING SAID GRANT AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE APPLICATION AND <br />GRANT AWARD CONTRACT; AGREEING TO PROVIDE THE <br />REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS; AND ACKNOWLEDGING THAT <br />GRANT MONIES SHALL NOT BE USED TO SUPPLANT ONGOING <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPENDITURES. ~ <br /> <br />WHEREAS the City of Riverside desires to continue a <br /> <br />certain project designated its "Career Criminal Apprehension <br /> <br />Program"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the objective of this program will be to focus <br /> <br />attention on career criminal apprehensions in conjunction with <br /> <br />the Career Criminal Prosecution Program of the Riverside County <br /> <br />District Attorney in an attempt to make the City of Riverside <br /> <br />a much safer city; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS certain funds are available for the second year <br /> <br />of the City's Career Criminal Apprehension Program from funds <br /> <br />made available pursuant to Chapter 1292 of the 1982 statutes for <br /> <br />the Career Criminal Apprehension Program administered by the <br /> <br />Office of Criminal Justice Planning; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br /> <br />the City of Riverside, California, that an application to the <br /> <br />California Office of Criminal Justice Planning for a Grant for <br /> <br />Law Enforcement Purposes in the amount of $100,000 for second <br /> <br />year funding of its Career Criminal Apprehension Program is hereby <br /> <br />authorized and the submission of such application by the Mayor of <br /> <br />the City of Riverside on behalf of said City is hereby authorized <br /> <br />and direct:ed. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event the California <br /> <br />Office of Criminal Justice Planning consents to fund the above <br /> <br />project, the City of Riverside agrees to accept said grant and <br /> <br />execution on behalf of the City of the Grant Award-Contract, <br />
