AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT SERVICES <br /> Archaeological Consulting Services <br /> <br /> Archaeological Mitigation Services - Schacker & Jimenez Building <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this25 day of July ,2000, by <br /> <br />and between the REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, a public <br />entity, hereinafter referred to as "Agency," and Archaeological Consulting Services, hereinafter <br />referred to as "Consultant," with respect to the following facts: <br /> <br /> RECITALS: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Agency requires the services of a consultant that is experienced in <br />professional archaeological mitigation services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Consultant has the necessary experience in providing professional <br />consulting services and advice on various issues relating to monitoring of demolition, <br />identification, evaluation and date recovery of sub-surface archaeological resources of two <br />sites, the Schacker building at 3570 9th Street and the Jimenez building at 3940 Orange <br />Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, selection of Consultant is expected to achieve the desired results in an <br />expedited fashion; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Consultant has submitted a proposal to Agency and has affirmed its <br />willingness and ability to perform such work; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Agency and Consultant agree as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. Retention of Consultant. Agency retains Consultant to perform, and Consultant agrees <br />to render, those services (hereinafter "the services") defined in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and <br />incorporated herein by this reference in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth herein. <br /> <br /> 2. Standard of Performance. While performing the services, Consultant shall exercise <br />the reasonable professional care and skill customarily exercised by reputable members of <br />Consultant's profession practicing in the Metropolitan Southern California Area, and shall use <br />reasonable diligence and best judgment while exercising its professional skill and expertise. <br /> <br /> <br />
