Departmental Presentation— Emilio Ramirez, Deputy Community Development Director <br /> • Deputy Director Ramirez provided the Board with a verbal overview of the Community Development <br /> Department. This included a PowerPoint presentation of the department's organizational chart, <br /> functions and services, current workforce and retention/turnover rate. <br /> • Mr. Ramirez informed the Board that the Community Development Department received a generous <br /> donation of pet food from Petsmart. Deputy Director Ramirez indicated that this food donation will be <br /> used at the Homeless Access Center for homeless pets. It is estimated that the donation will last <br /> approximately six (6) years. <br /> • Deputy Director Ramirez informed the Board that there will be a walk to end homelessness on April 12, <br /> 2014. Mr. Ramirez encouraged Board Members to attend. <br /> • Mr. Ramirez discussed the various departmental morale boosters the Community Development <br /> Department has done such as having a holiday dinner and surveying employees to obtain suggestions <br /> for departmental improvement in an effort to provide better customer service and providing staff with <br /> various training opportunities. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
