2/5/80 <br />BP/jm <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> ? <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br /> lo <br /> <br /> 11 <br /> <br /> 12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />.18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br /> 20 <br /> <br /> 21 <br /> <br /> 22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />28 <br /> <br />29 <br /> <br />3o <br /> <br />31 <br /> <br />32 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13994 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF <br /> AN APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF CRIMINAL <br /> -JUSTICE PLANNING FOR THE CONTINUATION OF A GRANT <br /> FOR THE RIVERSIDE ROBBERY-BURGLARY TASK FORCE <br /> PROJECT THROUGH THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, <br /> 1980; ACCEPTING SAID GRANT AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> EXECUTION OF THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS; AGREEING TO <br /> PROVIDE THE REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS; AND <br /> ACKNOWLEDGING THAT GRANT FUNDS SHALL NOT BE USED <br /> TO SUPPLANT ONGOING LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPENDITURES. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City of Riverside has undertaken to improve <br /> its enforcement efforts in the area of robbery and burglary by <br /> implementing a program that will increase the number of arrests <br /> and convictions through a cooperative program with the Riverside <br /> County District Attorney's Office; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the City of Riverside desires to continue the <br />Riverside Robbery-Burglary Task Force project funded in part <br />from funds made available through the Omnibus Crime Control and <br />Safe Streets Act of 1968, P.L. 90-351, as amended (hereinafter <br />referred to as the Crime Control Act) administered by the Office <br />of Criminal Justice Planning; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />the City of Riverside that application to the Office of Criminal <br />Justice Planning for the continuation of a Grant for Law Enforce- <br />ment Purposes for the Robbery-Burglary Task Force through fiscal <br />year ending September 30, 1980 is hereby authorized and the Mayor <br />of the City of Riverside is directed to execute and submit said <br />application on behalf of said City. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event the California <br />Office of Criminal Justice Planning consents to continue the <br />funding of the above project, the City of Riverside agrees to <br />accept said grant and hereby authorizes the Mayor of the City of <br />Riverside to execute on behalf of the City the Grant Award <br />Contract for Law Enforcement Purposes, including any extensions <br />or amendments thereof; <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br />RIVERlID[ <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> <br />
