1 ORDINANCE NO. 6423 <br /> <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, <br /> AMENDING IN ITS ENTIRETY CHAPTER 9.12 OF THE RIVERSIDE <br /> 3 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO WEAPONS. <br /> 4 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, does ordain as follows: <br /> 5 Section 1. Chapter 9.12 of the Riverside Municipal Code is amended in its entirety to <br /> 6 read as follows: <br /> 7 WEAPONS <br /> 8 Sections: <br /> <br /> 9 9.12.010 Definition of Firearm. <br /> 10 9.12.020 Unlawful to Discharge Firearm Within the City. <br /> 11 9.12.030 Exceptions. <br /> 12 9.12.040 Unlawful to Kill Wild Fowl or Squirrels. <br /> 13 9.12.050 Authorized Destruction of Birds Destroying Crops or Property. <br /> 14 9.12.060 Nuisances - Disposition of Weapons. <br /> 15 9.12.070. Severability. <br /> 16 9.12.010 DEFINITION OF FIREARM. In this Chapter, "firearm" means a gun, <br /> <br /> 17 pistol, rifle, air rifle or air gun, b-b gun, arrow, crossbow, or any other instrument of any kind, <br /> 18 character or description which throws or projects a bullet or missile or substance by means of elastic <br /> 19 force, air, or explosive substance likely to cause bodily harm. <br /> 20 9.12.020 UNLAWFUL TO DISCHARGE FIREARM WITHIN THE CITY. No <br /> 21 person may fire or discharge a firearm within the city, nor may a parent, guardian or person having <br /> 22 the care, custody or control of a minor permit the minor to fire or discharge a firearm within the <br /> 23 City, except as provided hereafter. <br /> 24 9.12.030 EXCEPTIONS. Section 9.12.020 does not apply to the use of a firearm by: <br /> 25 A. A peace officer or person in the military service in the discharge of their <br /> 26 duties; <br /> 27 B.
