• Mrs. Mundy indicated that the Museum is making strides to boost morale within the department. 2. Introduction of Human Resources Staff—Rhonda Strout, Human Resources Director • Human Resources Director Rhonda Strout introduced the Human Resources team to the Board. • Each staff member stated their name, title and a synopsis of what their job duties entail. 3. Human Resources Director Updates —Rhonda Strout, Human Resources Director • Director Strout informed the Board that interviews are underway for the Utilities General Manager position. • Human Resources Director Rhonda Strout indicated that there has been a ten percent rate increase in employee benefits for both Kaiser and Blue Cross. Ms. Strout informed the Board that four percent of the increase can attribute to the Affordable Care Act. • Ms. Strout indicated that union negotiations are still underway with IBEW and an agreement has been made with SEIU. • Director Strout announced that CalPERS conducted an audit on the City and the Human Resources Department is collaborating with the Finance Department to make minor changes as a result of the audit. • Principal Human Resources Analyst Pia Rose provided a handout and review of the third quarter 2013 Labor and Employee Relations statistics. • Chair Norman Powell indicated that he would like for the Employee and Labor Relations statistics to be updated with a ledger at the bottom of page two (2)to spell out the acronyms listed on that page. 4. Discussion Regarding Human Resources Board Presentation to City Council — Jeremy Hammond, Deputy Human Resources Director • Deputy Human Resources Director Jeremy Hammond presented the Board with the final draft of the PowerPoint Presentation that will be presented to the City Council on November 19, 2013. 5.
