I RESOLUTION NO. 22490 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br /> 2 CALIFORNIA, ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING <br /> NOTICE OF A GENERAL AND SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE <br /> 3 HELD JUNE 4, 2013, TO BE CONDUCTED WHOLLY BY MAIL-IN <br /> BALLOT IN THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> 4 ELECTING A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM THE SECOND, <br /> 5 THIRD, FOUR"T"H, AND SIXTH WARDS OF SAID CITY OF RIVERSIDE. <br /> 6 The City Council of the City of Riverside does hereby resolve as follows: <br /> 7 Section 1: That in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Riverside <br /> 8 and the Constitution and election laws of the State of California, a General and Special <br /> 9 Municipal Election be held and the same is hereby called and ordered to be held in the City of <br /> 10 Riverside on ;lane 4, 2013, for the purpose of electing four members of the City Council of the <br /> 11 City of Riverside. The members of the City Council shall be from Wards 2, 4, and 6 of the City <br /> 12 of Riverside as established by the City Council, for a full term of four years, and from Ward 3 of <br /> 13 the City of Riverside as established by the City Council to fill a vacancy for a term ending <br /> 1.4 June 2, 2015. <br /> 15 Section 2: That no polling places will be secured as said election is to be conducted <br /> 16 wholly by snail-in ballot. Official ballots will be mailed together with the sample ballot <br /> 17 pamphlet and a postage prepaid envelope for return of the official ballot. Voted ballots must be <br /> 18 returned to the Registrar of Voters Office or to one of the drop-off locations, at least one of <br /> 19 which shall be located in Ward Two, Ward Three, Ward Four and Ward Six. Voted ballots must <br /> 20 be returned no later than 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 4, 2013. <br /> 21 Section 3: That for the purpose of holding said General and Special Municipal Election, <br /> 22 there shall be and hereby are established consolidated voting precincts consisting of a <br /> 23 consolidation of the regular precincts in the City of Riverside established for the holding of state <br /> 24 and county elections as said regular election precincts exist on the date of this resolution. <br /> 25 Section 4: That the form and contents of the ballots to be used at said election shall be as <br /> 26 provided by law. <br /> 27 Section 5: That in accordance with Section 10002 of the Elections Code, the Board of <br /> 28 Supervisors of Riverside County are hereby requested to consent to the Riverside County <br /> CITY ATTCSRNEV5 OFFICE <br /> :3900 MAN STREET <br /> R:NERSWE,CA 92522 <br /> ((951)626-5567 <br /> 0:ICLERKT EPTCom-mbN\COUNCIL\RESOLUTIONS\01-1 5-MCALLING ELECTION.DOC <br />
