Approve the acceptance grant funds in the amount of $17,000 from the County of <br /> Riverside Department of Public Health - Community Health Agency for the Safe Routes <br /> to School Program grant; <br /> 2. Authorize an increase in revenues in the amount of $17,000 and appropriate <br /> expenditures in the same amount to an account as established by the Finance <br /> Department; and <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to make non-substantive changes and to <br /> execute the grant agreement and any necessary grant documents. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Riverside Police Department has received a grant award in the amount of $17,000 from <br /> the County of Riverside Department of Public Health, for participation in the Safe Routes to <br /> School (SRTS) Program. The term of the grant is from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2014. <br /> The goal of the grant is to conduct pedestrian and bicycle safety programs to children enrolled <br /> at elementary schools in the city of Riverside. This is the fourth time that the department has <br /> received funding from this agency to conduct this program. <br /> 33-1 <br />
