This statute, <br />as modified by the California Supreme Court's decision in California Redevelopment Association <br />v. Matasantos, has generated considerable uncertainty and confusion. In response, the League's <br />City Attorneys' Department formed a working group of experienced city attorneys and <br />redevelopment attorneys to help advise the League on the numerous legal issues that have <br />arisen in the wake of redevelopment agencies being dissolved. For more, see Page 2. <br />••••• ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• <br />LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES' 2012 MAJOR BILL LIST <br />The League hosted a free webinar for members Thursday, April 12 on the League's major bills. <br />Major bills are defined as bills which would have significant impacts on local governments. Some <br />of the bills listed below have been marked as "hot" bills. Hot bills are bills that League lobbyists <br />are requesting urgent assistance from cities. Cities are encouraged to send position letters to <br />their legislators immediately for hot bills. For more, see Page 2. <br />••••• ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• <br />LEAGUE COMMENDS CALIFORNIA REDEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION FOR ITS <br />LONG RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENT <br />This week, the League was deeply saddened to learn that the California Redevelopment <br />Association (CRA) board has decided that it will begin the process of dissolving the association <br />and that only a small contract staff will be available beginning April 30.
