CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor & Agency Members <br /> <br /> Date: January 11, 2000 <br />Item No.: 2 <br /> <br />Subject: Request Approval of the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Loans and Grants <br /> (Arlanza/La Sierra, Downtown, Eastside and Citywide Areas) <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />In accordance with the provisions of their contract, the Riverside Housing Development Corporation (RHDC) has <br />determined that the following applicants are eligible to participate in the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation <br />Loan/Grant Programs. These applicants are as follows: <br /> <br />11 064 Sally Ramirez 4952 Hedrick Avenue (05) CW S/G $5,000 <br /> ALS D/L $27,921 <br /> <br />Funds will be used to install a new roof, doors, build a new wood carport, exterior painting, smoke detectors, <br />install central heat and air, up-grade plumbing and electrical, install new windows and replace hot water heater. <br />Owner has lived at property for 33 years and has received no prior assistance from this program. Yard is <br />landscaped and well maintained. <br /> <br />11 104 Carlos & Martha Mendez 3235 Priscilla Street (06) CW R/L $16,000 <br /> <br />The funds will be used to build a garage to comply with City code and build a bathroom addition to better <br />accommodate family's needs. Homeowner will be responsible to take care of all other code items prior to starting <br />project: plumbing, electrical and smoke detectors. Owner has lived at property for 12 years and has received no <br />prior assistance from this program. Yard is landscaped and well maintained. <br /> <br />11 090 John Richmond 3563 Mt. Rubidoux Blvd (01) DT HOPP $10,000 <br /> <br />The funds will be used tO repair roof, replace all broken glass, remove broken tree branch and repair downed <br />electrical, up-grade electrical fixtures and bring plumbing up to code. Owner has lived at property for 14 years <br />and has received no prior assistance from this program. Property is located in the Mt. Rubidoux Historic District. <br />Yard is landscaped and well maintained. <br /> <br />11 065 Theodor &Cynthia Schaffer 4556 University Avenue (01) DT HOPP $4,636 <br /> CW R/L $5,364 <br /> <br />The funds will be used to install a spark arrestor, replace broken glass, repair windows, install GFCI receptacle <br />outlets, replace insulation in attic and up-grade electrical system to 3 prong. Owner has lived at property for 1 <br />year and has received no prior assistance from this program. Property is located in the Mt. Rubidoux Historic <br />District. Yard is landscaped and well maintained. <br /> <br />11 086 Albert and Pearline Wallace 2790 Ins Street (07) ES G $5,000 <br /> <br />Funds will be used to install a new spark arrestor, weather-stripping, new water heater and new cabinet for water <br />heater, roof, new kitchen counters and cabinets, vent hood over stove, GFCI receptacle outlets, and repair termite <br /> <br />2-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
