I ,I,I,I,„„,I,I,I,„„„,I,I,I,„„„,� <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: March 27, 2012 <br />ITEM NO: 23 <br />WARD: ALL <br />SUBJECT: AWARD OF RFP NO. 1318 — VOICE OVER IP AND IP CONTACT <br />CENTER SOLUTION — FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE RIVERSIDE <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES PHONE AND CALL CENTER SYSTEMS — <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />ISSUE: <br />The issue for City Council Consideration is the award of a professional services agreement for <br />replacement of the Riverside Public Utilities phone and call center systems. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />That the City Council: <br />1. Approve a professional services agreement for Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 1318 - <br />Voice Over IP and IP Contact Center Solution to Shared Technologies Inc., located in <br />Santa Fe Springs, California, in the amount of $1,126,576.90; <br />2. Authorize the issuance of a purchase order in an amount not to exceed $167,773.00 to <br />AT &T for miscellaneous telecommunication equipment and network equipment for the <br />Voice Over IP and IP Contact Center Solution; <br />3. Authorize staff to issue change orders in an amount not to exceed 15% of the total <br />project cost; and <br />4. Approve the City Manager or designee to execute the attached agreement with Shared <br />Technologies Inc., for procurement of Avaya VoIP and Call Center solutions and <br />maintenance in accordance terms and pricing specified in the RFP. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Riverside has used Ericsson as the citywide phone system for over 26 years. <br />Typical life cycle for phone systems is 15 to 20 years. Ericsson sold off the land line phone <br />system business in 2005 to Aastra, a Canadian company. Since that time, Ericsson has not <br />produced additional products and replacement parts have been difficult to locate. There have <br />23 -1 <br />
