City Council meeting date: 3-20-I2
Item 0o.: 3
City Manager and City Council Members:
|recently attended anADA meeting. | was informed that there are police officers who visit assisted
living homes and convalescent homes. I was told that the officers inform individuals of their personal
rights. I would like to know if all facilities are visited. I am interested in attaining this information
because of my advocacy of seniors and disabled individuals. I am interested in their needs and seeing
that they are properly taken care ut
| would like toknow if it is possible to have a police officer attend the next ADA meeting. I would like to
be able to talk to the officer about how to personally protect oneself. I would also like to discuss
acquiring Neighborhood Watch for all senior and disabled complexes, I would like to know if police
officers can go to living complexes and talk to the property manager.
I would also like tV know if the FTC, Federal Trade Commission, can come to Riverside, and inform
individuals about how to protect one's identity. I know that the FTC was on CSPAN, and would like to
know how seniors and disabled can protect themselves from fraudulent attempts to acquire personal
information.
Thank you for your consideration,
Shirley Ferrante, Senior and Disabled Advocate
 q
