Asberry, Annette Beh, Kevin Dawson, Robert <br /> Melsh, Robert Krieger, Alan Curl, and others <br /> Chair Evans convened the meeting at 5:30 p.m. <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br /> Alan Curl spoke regarding the circumstances under which the City Charter was <br /> changed in 1929 relative to the powers of the Mayor. <br /> Mary Shelton expressed her concern regarding the independent auditor and the utility <br /> fund. <br /> Mary Humboldt expressed concern regarding City Charter Section 1204 relative to the <br /> amount of money transferred from the utility fund to the general fund and favored <br /> reducing the current 11.5 percent transfer to a lower amount. <br /> Robert Melsh suggested that the City Auditor position be modeled after the City of <br /> Stockton and also recommended that the Committee review the City of Long Beach City <br /> Charter and their outline of the City Auditor position. <br /> Robert Krieger suggested establishment of an independent wages, salaries, and <br /> benefits committee consisting of residents of the City to eliminate the Mayor and City <br /> Council's conflict of interest as they directly benefit from the salaries and benefits they <br /> establish. <br /> 1 <br /> 3 -1 <br />
