Date: 10 -11 -11 <br />Item No.: 22 <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AND <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2011, 2 P.M. <br />ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />CITY HALL <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />Roll Call <br />Mayor Loveridge called the meeting to order at 2 p.m. in the Art Pick Council <br />Chamber. <br />WORKSHOP <br />REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS FROM AUSTIN, TEXAS VISIT <br />Following presentation of the economic and innovation themed visit to Austin, <br />Texas, the City Council (1) approved Mayor Loveridge's 18 recommendations <br />as outlined in the written staff report amending recommendation number 12, <br />to read "Invite Councilmember Gardner to convene with Mayor Loveridge and <br />others who may have interest to review Austin's approach to animal services <br />for recommendations to the City Council "; and (2) directed staff to return to <br />City Council on December 13, 2011, with a progress report. <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />AMBULANCE FRANCHISE APPLICATION - CONTINUED <br />The public hearing to consider an additional ambulance franchise application <br />for Mission Ambulance for non - emergency basic life support and critical care <br />transport services was continued to 3 p.m. on October 11, 2011. <br />LEGISLATIVE SUBPOENA - SADEGHIAN <br />The City Attorney Announced that relative to In re the City Council Legislative <br />Subpoena issued on September 1, 2011, to Mohammed (Mike) Sadeghian <br />regarding the use of property at 6701 Brockton Avenue, Riverside, California, <br />as an illegal and unpermitted marijuana distribution facility, the requested <br />documents have been produced. The City Attorney also reported that the <br />property owner Mr. Sadeghian has not complied with the cease and desist <br />letters issued by the City and is continuing to permit the illegal use.
