I � RszDE <br />City Council Memorandum <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: July 26, 2011 <br />FROM: CITY CLERK ITEM NO: 42 <br />WARD: ALL <br />SUBJECT: BOARD AND COMMISSION RESIGNATIONS <br />ISSUE <br />The City Council is being asked to accept the resignations of Rogelio V. Morales from the <br />Community Police Review Commission and Jack Brewer from the Commission on Disabilities. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />That the City Council: <br />1. Accept the resignations of Rogelio V. Morales, Ward 2, from the Community Police Review <br />Commission and Jack Brewer, Ward 5 from the Commission on Disabilities effective <br />immediately; <br />2. Request the City Clerk to process the vacancies; and <br />3. Request the Mayor send letters thanking Mr. Morales and Mr. Brewer for the time invested <br />serving on the Community Police Review Commission and Commission on Disabilities, <br />respectively. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On July 11, 2011, the City Clerk's Office received a resignation letter from Jack Brewer of the <br />Commission on Disabilities. His term on the Commission expires on March 1, 2013. Mr. Brewer <br />represented Ward 5 on the Commission. <br />On July 13, 2011, the City Clerk's Office received a resignation letter from Rogelio V. Morales of the <br />Community Police Review Commission. His term on the Commission expires on March 1, 2013. <br />Mr. Morales represented Ward 2 on the Commission. <br />Pursuant to Charter Section 802, each board and commission must have at least one <br />representative from each of the Council Wards. The City Clerk's Office will process the vacancies. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Recruitment and appointment costs are included annually in the City Clerk's budget. <br />42 -1 <br />
