<br /> <br /> City Council Memorandum <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCILDATE: July 26, 2011 <br />FROM: CITY CLERK’S OFFICE ITEM NO: <br /> WARD: ALL <br />SUBJECT: DESIGNATION OF VOTING DELEGATE FOR LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA <br />CITIES 2011 ANNUAL CONFERENCE <br />ISSUE <br />The League of California Cities 2011 Annual Conference has been scheduled for <br />September 21 through 23, 2011, and a voting delegate and alternate may be designated to <br />represent the City at the annual business meeting on Friday, September 23, 2011. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />That the City Council designate Councilmember Melendrezas the voting delegate and Mayor <br />Loveridge as the alternate for the business meeting of the 2011 League of California Cities annual <br />conference. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The League of California Cities holds an annual conference and business meeting to take action on <br />conference resolutions that guide cities and the League in efforts to improve the quality, <br />responsiveness, and vitality of local government in California. The City of Riverside has the <br />opportunity to appoint a voting delegate and alternate to represent Riverside at the annual business <br />meeting on Friday, September 23, 2011, in San Francisco. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The conference travel and meeting expenses are included in the City Council’s adopted budget. <br />There is no additional funding needed to designate a voting representative or to perform the duties. <br />Prepared by: Colleen J.
