City Council Memorandum TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: May 10, 2011 FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT ITEM NO: 32 WARD: 1 SUBJECT: ESTABLISHMENT OF PREFERENTIAL PARKING ZONES MT. RUBIDOUX AREA — RESOLUTION ISSUE The issue for City Council consideration is the establishment of Preferential Parking Zones (PPZs) for residents on eight (8) street segments within the Mt. Rubidoux area. RECOMMENDATIONS That the City Council: 1. Adopt a Resolution to: a. Establish a "No Parking Any Time, except for residents with permits" zone on the south side of University Avenue from Mt. Rubidoux Drive to Redwood Drive; b. Establish a "No Parking Any Time, except for residents with permits" zone on the south side of Ninth Street from Mt. Rubidoux Drive to Pine Street; c. Establish a "No Parking Any Time, except for residents with permits" zone on the south side of Tenth Street from the westerly terminus to Pine Street; d. Establish a "No Parking Any Time, except for residents with permits" zone on the south side of Eleventh street from Redwood Drive to Pine Street; e. Establish a "No Parking Any Time, except for residents with permits" zone on the west side of Redwood Drive from University Avenue to Tenth Street; f. Establish a "No Parking Any Time, except for residents with permits" zone on the west side of Glenwood Drive from Tenth Street to Allis Place; g. Establish a "No Parking Any Time, except for residents with permits" zone on the east side of Mt. Rubidoux Drive from Ninth Street to University Avenue; and h. Modify the boundaries of the existing "No Parking Any Time, except for residents with permits" zone on the west side of Loring Drive from "north of Ninth Street encompassing the three northerly marked parking stalls" to "Ninth Street to the northerly terminus "; and 32 -1
