RESOLUTION NO. 960 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN OR WITHOUT THE LA SIERRA /ARLANZA REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA CONSISTING OF TENANT IMPROVEMENTS AT THE MAGNOLIA AVENUE POLICE STATION. WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ( "Agency ") 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 desires and intends to pay the cost for the construction and installation of public improvements consisting of tenant improvements at the Magnolia Avenue Police Station ( "Improvements ") within or without the La Sierra/Arlanza Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project Area "); and WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvement that is publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, the Improvements will provide enhanced public safety and promote the health and welfare of the community within the Project Area; and WHEREAS, the Iegislative body of the City Council has consented to the Agency's paying for the cost of the Improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside that staff is hereby authorized to pay for the costs for construction and installation of the Improvements described in this resolution, based on the following findings: Section 1 . The Improvements benefit the Project Area by improving a publicly owned facility. According to Section III.E.4 of the Redevelopment Plan for the Project Area, the Agency may, with the consent and cooperation of the City Council and adoption of certain findings specified in CRL Section 33445, pay all or part of the cost of the installation and construction of facilities which are publicly owned.
