RESOLUTION NO. 960 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO <br />HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING <br />PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN OR <br />WITHOUT THE LA SIERRA /ARLANZA REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT <br />AREA CONSISTING OF TENANT IMPROVEMENTS AT THE MAGNOLIA <br />AVENUE POLICE STATION. <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ( "Agency ") <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />desires and intends to pay the cost for the construction and installation of public improvements <br />consisting of tenant improvements at the Magnolia Avenue Police Station ( "Improvements ") <br />within or without the La Sierra/Arlanza Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project Area "); and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br />the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the <br />installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvement that is <br />publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding <br />neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will provide enhanced public safety and promote the <br />health and welfare of the community within the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Iegislative body of the City Council has consented to the Agency's <br />paying for the cost of the Improvements. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of <br />Riverside that staff is hereby authorized to pay for the costs for construction and installation of <br />the Improvements described in this resolution, based on the following findings: <br />Section 1 . The Improvements benefit the Project Area by improving a publicly owned <br />facility. According to Section III.E.4 of the Redevelopment Plan for the Project Area, the <br />Agency may, with the consent and cooperation of the City Council and adoption of certain <br />findings specified in CRL Section 33445, pay all or part of the cost of the installation and <br />construction of facilities which are publicly owned. <br />
