,t/ <br /> 1 RESOLUTION NO. 22129 <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE <br /> 3 SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON THE 2ND DAY OF <br /> NOVEMBER, 2010; DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF AND <br /> 4 SETTING FORTH SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED <br /> BY LAW. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held in the City of Riverside, State of <br /> 7 California, on the 2nd day of November, 2010, as required by law; and <br /> 8 WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in the time, form and <br /> 9 manner as provided by law; voting precincts were properly established; election officers were <br /> 10 appointed and in all respects said election was held and the returns made and declared in the <br /> 11 time, form, and manner as required by the provisions of the Charter of the City of Riverside and <br /> 12 the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of public elections in the City of <br /> 13 Riverside; and <br /> 14 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 22069 adopted on the 27th day of July, 2010, the <br /> 15 appropriate county official canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to <br /> 16 this City Council and said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A ". <br /> 17 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, as <br /> 18 follows: <br /> 19 Section 1: That there were 132 voting precincts established for the purpose of holding <br /> 20 said election consisting of the consolidation of the regular election precincts in the City of <br /> 21 Riverside as established for the holding of state and county elections. <br /> 22 Section 2: That said Special Municipal Election was held for the purpose of submitting <br /> 23 to the qualified electors of the City of Riverside the question as to whether a phased increase in <br /> 24 the City's transient occupancy tax should be approved. <br /> 25 Section 3: That the full number of votes cast in said City election, excepting therefrom <br /> 26 vote by mail ballots was 35,627; that the whole number of vote by mail ballots cast in said City <br /> 27 election was 30,159; and the total of all votes cast in said City election was 65,786. <br /> 28 /// <br /> CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE <br /> 3900 MAIN STREET <br /> RIVERSIDE, CA 92522 <br /> (951) 826 -5567 <br /> - 1 - <br />
