CHARTER AMENDMENT SUMMARY <br />Measure BB <br />Shall the Charter of the City of Riverside be amended by amending the <br />Preamble, changing the title of Article II, and correcting typographical errors in <br />sections 1110 and 1111? <br />Unanimous <br />Measure CC <br />Shall the Charter of the City of Riverside be amended to (1) add Section 201, <br />"Access to public meetings and public records, "(2) provide that meetings of ad <br />hoc Council committees be open to the public and that closed session Council <br />meetings be audio recorded; (3) provide that citizens shall have the right to make <br />comments at ad hoc Council committee meetings; and (4) provide that the City <br />Clerk help the public examine and copy public records? <br />(1) Unanimous; (2) 13 -1 with Member Teer voting no, (3) unanimous; <br />(4) unanimous <br />Measure DD <br />Shall the Charter of the City of Riverside be amended by adding a new Section <br />202, entitled "Adoption of ethics code," which would require the City of Riverside <br />to adopt within six months a Code of Ethics and Conduct? <br />14 -2, with Members Higgins and Brewton voting no. <br />Measure EE <br />Shall the Charter of the City of Riverside be amended to (1) provide that <br />increases to the compensation of the Mayor and City Council be limited to five <br />percent every two years; and (2) eliminate the Mayor and Council members <br />salary commission? <br />(1) Unanimous; (2) 13 -1, Member Mayes voting no. <br />Measure FF <br />Shall the Charter of the City of Riverside be amended to provide that the Mayor <br />shall appoint the chairperson to all City Council standing committees? <br />11 -5, Members Higgins, Tyrell, Teer, Brewton, & Barry Johnson voting no. <br />Measure GG <br />Shall the Charter of the City of Riverside be amended to provide that each City <br />board or commission shall have at least one member from each Council Ward? <br />1 <br />
