I RESOLUTION NO. 929 <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br /> 3 RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO <br /> HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING <br /> 4 PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN THE <br /> MERGED DOWNTOWN /AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL AND HUNTER <br /> 5 PARK/NORTHSIDE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA FOR THE <br /> IMPROVEMENTS TO THE FOX ENTERTAINMENT PLAZA PROJECT. <br /> 7 WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ( "Agency ") <br /> 8 desires and intends to pay for the cost to demolish structures and prepare the site for construction <br /> 9 of the Fox Entertainment Plaza ( "Improvements ") within the Merged Downtown/Airport <br /> 10 Industrial — Hunter Park/Northside Redevelopment Project Area (the "Project Area"); and <br /> 11 WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br /> 12 the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the <br /> 13 installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvement that is <br /> 14 publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and <br /> 15 WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding <br /> 16 neighborhoods; and <br /> 17 WHEREAS, the Improvements will improve safety of the building and within the Project <br /> 18 Area and promote the health, safety and welfare of the community; and <br /> 19 WHEREAS, the legislative body of the Agency has consented to the Agency's payment. <br /> 20 of the cost of construction and installation of the Improvements. <br /> 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of <br /> 22 Riverside that staff is hereby authorized to pay the costs for construction and installation of <br /> 23 Improvements described in this resolution, based on the following findings: <br /> 24 Section 1 . The Improvements benefit the project area by helping to eliminate blight <br /> 25 within the project area through the demolition of blighted buildings with no further functional <br /> 26 use and facilitating the construction of additional parking, live entertainment space and dining <br /> 27 opportunities adjacent to the Fox Performing Arts Center. <br /> 28 <br /> 1 <br />
