RESOLUTION NO. 918 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING FINDINGS PURSUANT TO <br />HEALTH & SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445 AND AUTHORIZING <br />PAYMENT OF COSTS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED PROJECTS WITHIN OR <br />WITHOUT THE MAGNOLIA CENTER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT <br />AREA THAT CONSIST OF THE MARCY LIBRARY/PARKS, RECREATION <br />AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE <br />OFFICES TENANT IMPROVEMENTS. <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, California ("Agency") <br />desires and intends to pay the cost for the construction of tenant improvements for the remodel of <br />an existing 18,000-square-foot, two-story building, for Marcy Library on the first floor and <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department administration offices on the second <br />floor ("Improvements") within or without the Magnolia Center Redevelopment Project Area (the <br />"Project Area"); and <br />WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33445 provides that the Agency may, with <br />the consent of the legislative body, pay all or part of the value of the land for, and the cost of the <br />installation and construction of, any building, facility, structure, or other improvement that is <br />publicly owned either within or without the Project Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will reduce blight in the Project Area and its surrounding <br />neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, the Improvements will enhance a public educational facility and centralize <br />recreational services in the Project Area and promote the health, safety and welfare of the <br />community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Agency, with consent of the legislative body, desires to pay the cost for <br />the Improvements as described in this resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of <br />Riverside that staff is hereby authorized to pay for the costs for construction and installation of <br />Improvements described in this resolution, based on the following findings: <br />Section 1. The Improvements benefit the project area by helping to eliminate blight <br />within the Project Area. Lack of public facilities are a source of physical blight within the <br />1 <br />
