<br />The minutes of the mooting of December 23, 1948 were read end approved.

<br />This meeting marking the beginning of a new City Administration, Mayor Evans preceded the
<br />formal business of the meeting with brief reearks appropriate to the occasion, extending his greetings
<br />to the assembly and introducing the new Officials present.

<br />Upbn,motlon of Councilman Carter, seconded by Councilman Patterson, and duly carried, IT
<br />WAS ORDERED that it refund to Mrs. Floyd W. ray and Emlm K. Hunter, 3159 Cedar Street, Riverside,
<br />California, in the sum of' $9.60, on City Business License No. 30998, issued under date of July 1,
<br />1948, doing business as Riverside Beauty Salon, at 3634 First Street, in the City of Riverside, fcr
<br />the fiscal- year ending June 30, 1949, be, and the e -same is hereby, approved and authorized, the said
<br />amount being tine difference between the annual business license fee of $24.00, leso a discount of
<br />$2.40, and a charge of $12.00 for two full quarterly periods, the said business having been discontinued
<br />as of December 12, 1948.

<br />IT WAS ORDERED that the project . involving the traffic control sot -up for Fourteenth Street, Main Street, Magnolia Ave.
<br />Market Street, and Magnolia Avenue, be, and the same is hereby, approved as a traffic safety project,
<br />the cost to be paid from the Street Improvement Find.
