M. <br />if, I <br />i <br />Present: Mayor Criddle, Presiding; Councilmen Pinkerton, Barber, Carter, Lindsley, Yiilson, <br />Roll call - <br />fells and Lohrli; City Clerk Mills. - -. - - - - <br />- - - <br />Invocation was offered by Reverend L. F. Hurley, Minister of the Seventh Day Baptist Church. <br />Invocation - <br />The minutes of the meeting of February 27, 1934, were read and approved. <br />Minutes <br />Upon motion of Councilman wells, seconded by Councilman Pinkerton, the request of A. S. Bashor, <br />-Set -back - <br />line - <br />for permission to construct an addition to his dwelling at No. 4447 Thirteenth Street in a location <br />A.S.Bashor <br />thereon other than required by the provisions of the law relating to set -back lines, was denied, by the <br />r <br />ai. <br />following votes - - - - - <br />Ayes: Councilmen Pinkerton, Barber, Carter, Wells and Lohrli. <br />-' <br />- Boos: Councilman Wilson, <br />- <br />- Absent: Ilona. <br />Not voting: Councilman Lindsley. <br />- <br />It was moved by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman Pinkerton, that, pursuant to the <br />Apg opriation <br />request of the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, this day verbally presented, an appropriation, in the sin of <br />Riverside <br />Itavel- Orange <br />$250.00, fran the Advertising and Immigration Fund, for the purpose of advertising. the Second Annual <br />pageant <br />-. <br />Riverside Ilavel- Orange Pageant, to be held on Friday, May 4 1934, be, and the - sane -is hereby, approved <br />- and authori2ed, and a permit to conduct a: parade on the said date, in connection with the said pageant, <br />- - <br />is hereby granted.' <br />This motion carried by the follcwing vote: <br />- Ayos: Councilmen Pinkerton,: Barber, Carter, Lindsley, Wilson, wells and Lohrli. - <br />-- <br />-:__ _ <br />does:. None. <br />Absent: Ilene. <br />-: <br />f <br />s ** <br />Upon motion of Councilman Wells, seconded by Councilman Lindsley, the matter of ordering the <br />Nogales St. <br />-- <br />removal of the shoulder from Nogales Street, along the right -of -way of the Union Pacific company, from <br />- <br />Magnolia Avenue westerly, and of patching the said street, was referred to the Streets Committee of the <br />Council for investigation and recommendation. <br />- <br />A camiunication from the Superintendent of Streets, under date of March 1, 1934, submitting <br />Van Buren St. <br />~ <br />an estimate of the cost of improving Van Buren Street, fran the southerly line of Miller Street to the - <br />- <br />northerly line of Magnolia Avenue, and from the southerly line of Magnolia Avenue - southerly a distance <br />- - - <br />of 150 feet, with combination curb, gutter and sidewalk, where already constructed, and by surfacing, <br />- <br />- <br />with rock and oil, the unpaved portions of the said street between curbs, in accordance with the request <br />- <br />set £orbh in the patition of 1. B. Medsgor, at al, heretofore received and filed, with -tho - understanding <br />- <br />- <br />that the property o concerned shall pay for the cement, sand and oil necessary therefor, was <br />- <br />received and filed; whereupon, it was moved by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman Wells, that <br />4 <br />the said matter be, and the same is hereby, tabled. - <br />- - ...Y <br />This motion carried by the following vote: <br />Ayes.
