1 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />ORDNANCE NO. 6473 <br /> <br />AN ORDNANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 16.32 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE IN ORDER TO <br />ADOPT BY REFERENCE THE 1997 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE <br />AS AMENDED BY THE CALIFORNIA STATE FIRE MARSHAL TO PROVIDE <br />FOR REVISIONS TO SAID CHAPTER RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF SAID <br />CODES INCLUDING THE REPEAL OR AMENDMENT OF CERTAIN SECTIONS. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Riverside does ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Title 16 of the Riverside Municipal Code relating to Buildings and Construction is <br />hereby amended by amending Chapter 16.32 entitled "Fire Prevention" by repealing the following <br />section: <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br /> 16.32.066 Section 1001.3.1 added--Plans for fire extinguishing systems. <br /> <br /> Section 2: Section 16.32.020 of the Riverside Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br /> "16.32.020 1997 UNIFORM FIRE CODE ADOPTED. The 1997 Uniform Fire <br />Code as amended by the California State Fire Marshal, also known as the 1998 <br />California Fire Code ("this Code"), including appendices IA, IB, IC, IIA, lIB, IIC, lID, <br />lIE, IIF, IIG, IIH, II-I, ILIA, IIIB, IIIC, IIID, IVA, IVB, VA, VIB, VIC and any related <br />errata promulgated by the International Conference of Building Officials, 5360 <br />Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California, and the Western Fire Chiefs Association, <br />28924 Front Street, Temecula, California, which prescribes regulations consistent with <br />nationally recognized good practice for the safeguarding, to a reasonable degree, of life <br />and property from the hazards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, handling <br />and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices and from conditions hazardous <br />to life or property in the use or occupancy of buildings or premises, is adopted and by <br />this reference is made a part of this Code with the force and effect as though set out <br />herein in full, with the exception of the parts expressly excepted and deleted or as <br />amended by this Chapter.
