If this appropriation is made, the Fire Department will use $30,000 of these new funds and leave <br />an approximate balance of $110,000 at June 30, 1999, which will be carried over to fund future expenses <br />for the Paramedic First Responder Program. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Council not approve the Fire Department's request, which would set back the <br /> Department's anticipated implementation during July 1999. <br /> <br /> 2. That the City Council approve the Fire Department's request so that it may proceed with its <br /> implementation date as scheduled. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />That the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Authorize the purchase of equipment, supplies, training, and the request for overtime to attend <br /> accreditation sessions. <br /> <br />2.
