1 ORDINANCE NO. 6464 <br /> <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br /> CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR AN ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE <br /> 3 RIVERSIDE AUTO CENTER ASSESSMENT DISTRICT. <br /> <br />4 WHEREAS, on May 7, 1996, the City of Riverside City Council ("City Council") declared <br />5 by Resolution (No. 18911) its intention to conduct special assessment proceedings pursuant to the <br />6 Municipal Improvement Act of 1913 (Califomia Streets and Highways Code Section 10000, et.seq.) <br />7 (The "1913 Act") for an area designated as the "Riverside Auto Center Assessment District" as shown <br />8 on a boundary map (the "Boundary Map") of said proposed assessment district (the "Assessment <br />9 District"), which boundary map was approved by Resolution No. 18910, adopted by the City Council <br />10 on May 7, 1996, and recorded on May 14, 1996 in Book 41 of Maps of Community Facilities and <br />11 Assessment Districts, at Page 32, in the office of the County Recorder for the County of Riverside, State <br />12 of California; and <br />13 WHEREAS, as provided for by Resolution No. 18911, the City has imposed an assessment <br />14 upon certain of the parcels within the Assessment District deemed specially benefitted in an amount <br />15 sufficient to pay the incidental expenses of the assessment proceedings and a portion of the estimated <br />16 cost and expense of certain public improvements which are to be acquired and constructed in part with <br />17 the sale proceeds of limited obligation improvement bonds (the "Bonds") representing the unpaid <br />1 g assessments pursuant to the Improvement Bond Act (Streets and Highways Code Section 8500 et.seq.) <br />19 (the "1915 Act"); and <br />20 WHEREAS, the assessments as levied were recorded mad thereby became a lien on the <br />21 respective individual parcels by virtue of the following: <br />22 a.) The assessment diagram for the Assessment District was filed for record on June <br />23 5, 1998, in Book 43, of Maps of Assessment and Community Facilities Districts, at page(s) 45 through <br />24 48 thereof, in the official records of the County Recorder of the County of Riverside; and <br />25 b.)
