 <br />úÔÉÄúÎÈÏÚÔÑðØÐÎËÜÏÙÈÐ <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCILDATE: July 14, 2009 <br />FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENTITEM NO: <br /> <br /> WARDS: ALL <br />SUBJECT: ENVIRONMENTAL, CIVIL ENGINEERING, TRAFFIC ENGINEERING, <br />CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE <br />PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT SERVICES PANEL FOR PUBLIC WORKS <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS—AWARD OF MASTER PROFESSIONAL <br />SERVICES AGREEMENTS TO VARIOUS CONSULTING FIRMS <br />ISSUE: <br />The issue for City Council consideration is whether to approve Master Professional Services <br />Agreements with 28 professional firms for Environmental, Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, <br />Construction Management and Landscape Architecture for various Public Works capital <br />improvement projects through December 31, 2011. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the City Council approve the Master Professional Services Agreements (samples of which are <br />attached) with 28 professional firms for Environmental, Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, <br />Construction Management and Landscape Architecture for various Public Works Projects through <br />December 31, 2011 as outlined in this report, and authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to <br />execute the Agreements. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On December 20, 2005, the City Council approved on-call Master Agreements with 26 Professional <br />consulting firms to assist the Public Works Department on an as needed basis with the <br />environmental clearance and design of various capital improvement projects. These Master <br />Agreements expired on December 31, 2008. <br />On July 22, 2008, the City Council authorized the Public Works Department to proceed with the <br />issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFP) to retain Environmental, Civil Engineering, Traffic <br />Engineering, Construction Management and Landscape Architecture consulting firms on an as <br />needed basis and to continue the on-call consultant panel for an additional term through December <br />31, 2011. In lieu of issuance of RFP, the Public Works Department elected to extend the term of <br />the 2005-2008 panel through December 31, 2011, with the addition of two local engineering firms of <br />Adkison Engineers and Krieger & Stewart. <br />
