The "Co-Producer of Public Safety" model has proven to be very successful in the City of Riverside. 

The partnership that the Riverside Police Department has with the citizens in both the residential and business communities has been a deterrent to crime and has had a positive impact on livability issues in many neighborhoods.  In the Fiscal year 2006-2007, overall serious crime in the city was down by over 8%.  This can be attributed to RPD having better two-way communication with the community and truly working together to address these issues.

The Riverside Police Department is looking forward to both continuing and strengthening our partnership with the citizens in our city.  The Community Policing Group is urging for more citizens to become involved as partners rather than observers in both our Neighborhood and Business Watch programs.  For those citizens already involved in our programs, we thank you for your support!
